The government of Balochistan has dismissed around 2,000 school teachers due to their frequent absence from work, as announced in an official statement.

The decision was made during a meeting of the education department chaired by Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti.

Bugti directed the chief secretary to provide a report on the implementation of the orders within a month.

He emphasized the appointment of district education officers based on merit and assured that there would be no political interference in the department.

However, Bugti warned that if teachers continued to be absent, action would be taken against the education secretary.

He highlighted that the government invests Rs72,000 per child in the province’s education, equivalent to the cost of attending a high-end private school.
