Search Giant Google is Celebrating its 25th Birthday today (Wednesday) with a Special Doodle and a Walk Down Memory Lane.

Google Inc. was incorporated on September 4, but for more than a decade the company has celebrated its birthday on September 27.

In celebration of this milestone, Google treated users to a unique doodle featuring a GIF that transforms the iconic ‘Google’ into ‘G25gle.’ The tech company used the occasion as an opportunity for reflection, expressing a commitment to both reminiscing about its past and looking forward to the future.

In a blog post, Google conveyed, “Today’s Doodle celebrates Google’s 25th year. And while here at Google we’re oriented towards the future, birthdays can also be a time to reflect. Let’s take a walk down memory lane to learn how we were born 25 years ago.”

Founded by doctoral students Sergey Brin and Larry Page, who met at Stanford University in the late ’90s, Google emerged from their shared vision to enhance the accessibility of the World Wide Web. Working tirelessly from their dorm rooms, the duo developed a prototype for a more advanced search engine.

As progress on the project surged, they relocated the operation to Google’s inaugural office—a rented garage. On September 27, 1998, Google Inc. was officially established.

The company noted the significant changes since its inception in 1998 but underscored the unwavering nature of its mission: “to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful.”

Sundar Pichai, the current CEO of Google, commemorated the company’s birthday in a note last month. Reflecting on the company’s journey, Pichai acknowledged its transformative role in technology and emphasized the importance of innovation and adaptation.

He expressed gratitude to users, employees, and partners who contributed to Google’s success, recognizing the dedication of both past and present members of the Google team. Pichai also highlighted the rapid evolution of technology, noting that what was once considered extraordinary quickly became ordinary as technological boundaries continued to be pushed.
