Pakistan's left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi reached the milestone of 100 Test wickets on Sunday in the first Test of the series against hosts Sri Lanka in Galle.

Returning from injury, Afridi struck in just his second over to dismiss Nishan Madushka after Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first.
Incidentally, the 23-year-old Afridi reached 99 wickets in 25 Tests at the same venue last year before a knee injury sidelined him.

Since making his international debut in 2018, Afridi has emerged as a star bowler for the Babar Azam-led side, impressing with his bowling prowess in white-ball matches as well.

In total, he has an impressive tally of 134 wickets in limited-overs formats.

“I am very excited to be making my Test comeback in the country where I was injured,” the seamer told PCB Digital in Hambantota on Thursday before bowling at the two-day warm-up fixture against the hosts at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium.
