Shia scholar Allama Nasir Abbas, who was killed in Lahore late Sunday night, was laid to rest here on Tuesday.
A large number of people attended his funeral prayers that were offered at Sports Ground.
According to family, Allama Nasir was targeted as he spoke out against terrorism.
Hussaini Alliance, Majlis Wahdat ul Muslimeen (MWM) and other Shia groups took out rallies and staged protests in front of press clubs since he was assassinated.
