The Pakistan Muslim League-N has called a consultative meeting of opposition parties on Wednesday to discuss fresh political turmoil arising from Tahirul Qadri’s protest and Supreme Court’s orders to arrest Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on corruption charges.
The meeting will be held in Raiwind with PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif in chair. The meeting is likely to be attended by Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Syed Munawar Hasan, Prof. Sajid Mir, Mir Hasil Bazanjo, Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Talal Bugti, Aftab Ahmed Sherpao, Salim Saif Ullah, Hamid Nasir Chatha and Sajid Tareen.
The PML-N has reportedly decided to immediately press the PPP-led government over announcement of a final date of general polls in the country and a caretaker setup ahead of elections.
