Punjab Law Minister Rana Mashhood Sunday rejected all five demands of all-party conference and accused its participants of indulging in politics over dead bodies.
Addressing a press conference here, Mashood said that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had himself regretted the Model Town incident and that he was committed to bring the perpetrators to justice.
He said that Tahir ul Qadri was issuing proactive statements against the government.
“A judicial commission is already holding a transparent inquiry into Model Town incident,” Mashhood said. “We should wait for the finding of joint investigation team,” he added.
“Power is the only objective of parties which attended Qadri’s APC. People of Pakistan will thwart their nefarious designs,” he maintained. The law minister also commended PPP and other opposition parties, which stayed away from the APC.
