  • Sargodha: Eight schoolchildren injured in van fire

    SARGODHA: At least eight schoolchildren suffered burn injuries when a van carrying the children caught fire in Sargodha district of Punjab.

    Causes of the fire could not be ascertained immediately.

    Police and rescue officials said the incident took place in Bhalwal city of Sargodha district where fire erupted in a school van carrying more than a dozen children.

    Locals and rescue teams arrived on the scene and extinguished the flames. They shifted the injured children to tehsil headquarters hospital Bhalwal.

    The children were aging between eight and 12 years. Two of them are said to be in critical state.

    Police were investigating causes of the fire.
