    Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Tuesday met US President Donald Trump at the United Nations headquarters in New York,  reported.

    According to details, the US president, who arrived to address the UN General Assembly met FM Qureshi at a reception at the UN headquarters.

    Speaking about the meeting, the foreign minister said that Pakistan and the US agreed on the need to rebuild bilateral relations.

    “I met with President Donald Trump at the reception where I had the opportunity to discuss Pak-US relations with him. I requested him that we have had cordial relations and need to rebuild them,” he said while speaking to a state-owned TV.

    He said that President Trump agreed and said they intend to do as well, and he receive a positive response from him.

    Furthermore, Qureshi said that he also met Mike Pompeo. This is their second meeting within a month after the US top diplomat visited Islamabad.

    Both leaders would be hold another meeting on October 2. Qureshi said that Pompeo also sent his greetings to Prime Minister Imran Khan.”Send my greetings to your leader,” Pompeo told Qureshi.

    FM Qureshi is currently in New York to attend the ongoing 73rd session of the UN General Assembly. He is scheduled to address the forum on Saturday September 29.
