    A major one-day plantation campaign titled ‘Plant for Pakistan’ is starting from today.

    Prime Minister Imran Khan is expected to inaugurate the campaign by planting a sapling in the federal capital.

    About 1.5 million trees will be planted under the campaign as part of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government’s ten billion tree Tsunami 2018 drive.

    During the campaign, people will be given free of cost saplings at one hundred and ninety distribution points across the country.

    The purpose of the campaign is to encourage people, communities, organizations, business and industry, civil society and government to collectively plant trees.

    Earlier on August 30, Pakistan Navy started plantation campaign at Margalla Hills. Naval chief, Admiral Zafar Abbasi inaugurated the campaign, by planting a tree at Margalla Hills.

    Pak Navy’s ‘Million trees plantation campaign’ is in full swing. As per the campaign, 100,000 trees will be planted by September 15 in first phase. In second phase, trees will be planted in 2019, from February 15 to April 15.

    Third phase of planting trees will start from July 15 to September 15. While, last phase will begin in 2020, from February 15 to April 15.
