Sindh Assembly passes Sindh Peoples Local Government Ordinance 2012 with overwhelming majority.
The bill passed today provides for introducing new local bodies system in the province.
Initially‚ the new system will be functional in five districts of the province which included Karachi‚ Hyderabad‚ Sukkur‚ Larkana and Mirpurkhas. These cities have been declared metropolitin corporations. Remaining part of the province will have eighteen district councils.
Under the new system Karachi will have eighteen towns.
Meanwhile the assembly adopted a resolution condemning the blasphemous film.
