The Ministry of Interior in its report presented in the Supreme Court during Balochistan law and order case, named held Kashmir as India`s part.
The report was presented by the federal interior secretary Khwaja Siddiq Akbar before a two-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
While giving reference of Balochistan like situation in other regions, the report stated that “We should take a leaf from Indian experience where in the state like Kashmir, East Punjab, Nagaland, Asam and Mizoram, armed insurgency and partial breakdown of government machinery took place for a number of years, still democracy and successive elections afforded the people and the government a good chance to overcome their difficulties and defeat the militants with political process”
