Security forces on Thursday killed at least three terrorists and surrounded seven others during operations to foil two separate attacks in Gwadar, according to state-run Radio Pakistan and security sources.
The first attack targeted an empty camp belonging to a construction company, while the second operation is underway against suspected terrorists hiding in a hotel near the Gwadar Highway, security sources said.
Security forces thwarted the attack on the vacant camp through timely action, the sources said, adding that three more terrorists had been surrounded in connection with the incident.
In a separate operation, security forces have surrounded four terrorists inside a hotel near the Gwadar Highway, according to security sources.
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Gwadar is personally leading the operation on the ground, the sources said.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised security forces for foiling the attack on the construction company’s vacant camp and killing three terrorists.
Naqvi commended the forces’ professional capabilities and expressed pride in the personnel engaged in operations against terrorists.
“The entire nation stands united against terrorism and with the security forces,” he said.
Naqvi said operations would continue until terrorists and their facilitators were completely eliminated.
