Pakistan have clinched the Under-19s Asia Cup title after the Green Shirts crush arch-rivals India by massive 191-run victory at the ICCA Dubai on Sunday.Chasing a 348-run target, India bundled out for 156 inside the 27th over. Vaibhav Suryavanshi was off to a blazing start with the bat, scoring 10-ball 26, before he was removed by Ali Raza. The wicket of Suryavanshi, started a slide and it went downhill thereafter. No other batters could show any significant resistance with the bat.
Ayush Mhatre (2), Aaron George (16), Vihaan Malhotra (7), Vedant Trivedi (9), Abhigyan Kundu (13), Kanishk Chouhan (9), Khilan Patel (19) and Henil Patel (6) failed to show resistance with the bat.
For Pakistan, Ali Raza picked up four wickets. Mohammad Sayyam, Abdul Subhan, Huzaifa Ahsan took two wickets apiece.
Earlier, Sameer Minhas’ whirlwind 113-ball 172 and Ahmed Hussain’s 72-ball 56 powered Pakistan to 347-8 against.
Minhas clobbered 17 boundaries and nine towering sixes in his blazing 172 with a mammoth strike-rate of 152.21. Hussain was also brilliant with the bat, smashing three boundaries and one six in his 56-run knock.
Skipper Farhan Yousaf (19), Huzaifa Ahsan (0), Mohammad Shayan (7), Abdul Subhan (2) failed to show resistance with the bat.
Niqab Shafiq (12) and Mohammad Sayyam (13) remained unbeaten.
For India U19, Deepesh Devendran (3-83) picked up three wickets, but he was quite expensive with the bowl. Khilan Patel (2-44) and Henil Patel (2-62) scooped up two wickets apiece.
Kanishk Chouhan (1-72) took a scalp.
Ayush Mhatre (0-35) and Kishan Singh (0-50) remained wicketless.
Earlier, the younger brother of Arafat Minhas, Sameer Minhas had steered Pakistan to a formidable position after notching a brilliant quickfire century.
Pakistan made a terrific comeback after losing Hamza Zahoor on 14-ball 18, with Minhas stitched a 92-run partnership along with Sameer Minhas. Usman Khan made his way back to the pavilion after scoring 45-ball 35, lacing with three boundaries and one six.
But Minhas continued to treat the Indian bowlers with great contempt, with great aggression, clobbering boundaries and sixes.
Along with Ahmed Huissain, Minhas has stitched a partnership of over 100 runs to put the Green Shirts on a driving seat in the first half of the match.
India had elected to field first against Pakistan in the final of the Under-19s Asia Cup at the ICCA Dubai on Sunday.
