Quetta Gladiators' prized pacer, Naseem Shah, has made a surprising move to Islamabad United in a high-profile swap deal for the upcoming Pakistan Super League season nine (PSL 9).
The right-arm pacer shared his enthusiasm on the social media platform 'X' by posting a photo with a caption stated, "The next destination is Islamabad."
Previously, PSL 5 winning captain Imad Wasim also joined Islamabad United colours in the ninth edition of the tournament.
Imad, who was named as the All-Rounder of HBL PSL 8, has been snapped by Islamabad United in the Platinum category while Hasan Ali (Diamond category) moves to Karachi Kings. By virtue of this player trade, Karachi Kings have received Islamabad United’s first round silver pick in exchange for their second round silver pick.
With some of the finest hard hitters like Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Pakistan’s Azam Khan, and Asif Ali and all-rounders like Shadab Khan and Faheem Ashraf, Islamabad are slowly becoming one of the favourites for the upcoming season.
Earlier, Iftikhar Ahmed joined Multan Sultans in a major swap deal with Rilee Rossouw.
Iftikhar, who represented Peshawar Zalmi, Karachi Kings and Islamabad United in the past, will wear the Sultans' jersey next year, making him the first player to play for five different teams in the league.
With the historic trade, Multan now also got the first platinum pick in the PSL 9 Draft which is scheduled to take place on December 13 in Lahore.
Rossouw rejoined Quetta, the team with which he won the PSL trophy in 2019 and was also the second top-scorer by scoring 39 runs in the final against Peshawar Zalmi.
