    Apex committee tasks AIG to curb street crimes in Karachi File Photo

    The Sindh Apex Committee on Thursday tasked the Additional Inspector General (AIG) to curb street crimes in Karachi and recruit 4000 personnel in the Sindh Police for this purpose.

    Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah Thursday presided a meeting of the provincial apex committee which was attended by Governor Dr. Ishratul Ebad, members of the Sindh cabinet, Corps Commander Karachi Lt. Gen. Naveed Mukhtar, DG Rangers Maj. Gen. Bilal Akbar and other high-ups.

    The committee tasked the AIG to contain street crimes in Karachi and recruit 4000 personnel for this purpose.

    The recruits would be trained by the military, the meeting decided.

    Briefing the media afterwards, Advisor to Sindh CM on Information Moula Bux Chandio said the corps commander expressed complete satisfaction over the performance of police.

    He added the apex committee decided to take effective measures to prevent street crimes in Karachi.

    The provincial advisor said 10,000 CCTV cameras would be installed across the megapolis to monitor the law and order situation and keep a check on crimes, while the meeting also gave a go-ahead for recovering public lands.
