Ameer Jamaat e Islami (JI) Pakistan Siraj ul Haq on Sunday suggested making nuclear physicist and founder of Pakistan’s nuclear bomb project Abdul Qadeer Khan the caretaker prime minister for the upcoming general elections.

“Discussions and consultations among political parties have started in the country for nomination of interim prime minister. I call for making Dr Abdul Qadeer the interim PM for General Elections 2018,” he said announcing his parties take while addressing a rally at Takht-e-Nasrati Cricket Stadium in Karak.

Citing example of neighboring rival country, he said India made Abdul Kalam, nuclear scientist, their prime minister. While, former president Pervez Musharraf slapped sanctions on AQ Khan under pressure of the United States, he added.

Former nuclear scientist and a metallurgical engineer A Q Khan founded the uranium enrichment program for Pakistan’s atomic bomb project. The 81-year-old was awarded Hilal-i-Imtiaz and Nishan-e-Imtiaz. Pakistan conducted its first nuclear test in Chagai, Balochistan, on May 28, 1998.

Siraj ul Haq also said the JI would provide youth employments after bringing Islamic revolution and give subsidy to people on their basic necessities.

Lashing out at alleged horse-trading by political parties in Senate elections, he requested the Supreme Court to take notice of that.

The Ameer JI said members of provincial and national assemblies were traded. He asked the top court to take oath from the newly-elected Senate members that they were not elected with the help of money.
