Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan fell off a lifter while he was being raised to a stage. The election rally was being held in Gulberg, near Ghalib market.
The PTI Chairman received a head injury as a result of the fall. He was seen bleeding, in a semi-conscious state as he was rushed away from the site of the accident.
“He [Khan] first fell on to the roof of the lifter, and then fell to the ground,” the driver of the vehicle said.
Khan fell after a sudden imbalance of the wood planks on the lifter due to an increase in weight as his security personnel accompanied him towards the stage.
In a statement, PML-N head Mian Nawaz Sharif prayed for quick recovery of Imran Khan’s health. MQM chief Altaf Hussain appealed to nation to pray for Khan;s recovery and cancelled MQM’s public meetings. President Asif Ali Zardari expressed concerns at the health of PTI chief.
