At least two militants were killed while two officials were injured when a police check post came under attack in Gujrat late on Wednesday evenings.
According to initial details, at least eight militants attacked a police checkpost in Gujrat. A gun battle raged for nearly two hours in which two militants were killed and two policemen were injured. As many as six attackers managed to flee
Officials said they recovered heavy weapons including rocket launchers along with grenades from the possession of the dead militants.
Following the attack, police stations across the district were put on high alert.
One of the killed militants was identified as Mumtaz who was also wanted for several other terror attacks.
