Awami National Party’s (ANP) district councillor Mumtaz Khan on Saturday has been killed in a blast in Tora Wari area while at least two persons are reported injured.

Initial details suggest that the bomb was remotely controlled.

Earlier, in different incidents, several banned outfit Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan s (TTP) operatives have been arrested in the recent past. Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti, a couple of months before had claimed that security situation in Hangu is much better than before.

The Frontier Corps (FC) and Bugti had also appealed to the locals to help the security personnel in nabbing militants.

National Secuirty Advisor (NSA) Sartaj Aziz and Leader of Opposition in National Assembly (NA) Khursheed Shah have repeatedly alleged Indian Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) for acts of terror in Balochistan.

ANP is not the first political party that is hit as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf s (PTI) candidate for district council was injured in May this year in a blast in Zargari area.
