    Three terrorists were killed during a counter-terrorism operation conducted by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in the Dera Ban area of Dera Ismail Khan.

    According to details, a shootout took place between the CTD and terrorists in D.I. Khan, resulting in the deaths of three terrorists. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Dera Ban police station.

    Police stated that the terrorists had set up a checkpoint on the Sago Bridge to rob vehicles. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain terrorists.

    IG Akhtar Hayat Gandapur confirmed that the bodies of the slain terrorists have been transported to the hospital, where the identification process is underway.

    Meanwhile, in a separate incident, security forces thwarted an attempt by militants to infiltrate the Pak-Afghan border in Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the night of August 18-19.

    According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces observed the movement of a group of militants near the Pak-Afghan border.

    The ISPR stated that security forces effectively thwarted the infiltration attempt and during the exchange of fire, five militants were killed and four others were injured.
