    Two people were killed while another sustained injuries in a blast on Peshawar's Board Bazar road, police officials confirmed on Sunday morning.

    According to Peshawar SSP Operations Kashif Aftab Abbasi, the explosives were planted in the motorbike.

    "The blast was caused by 4-5kg of explosives. It claimed the lives of 2 individuals, while leaving another critically injured." he added.

    Kashif Aftab Abbasi stated that rescue teams have transported the deceased for post-mortem examination and the injured to the hospital for medical treatment.

    The injured were transported to the hospital, where one individual succumbed to their injuries. No evidence of a suicide attack has been discovered.

    The explosion took place during transportation, with explosives detonating while being moved from one location to another, three individuals were riding a motorcycle, according to SSP Operations.

    Preliminary investigations suggest that the explosion was not planned, according to SSP.

    "Further details regarding the target will be disclosed following the completion of the investigation. I am unable to disclose the names of the suspects at this time." SSP added.

    Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur condemned the blast and the provincial chief executive sought a report from Police authorities as well.
