    Central Development Working Party has approved five projects worth around one hundred and forty two billion rupees.

    The approval was given at a meeting of the CDWP in Islamabad today (Wednesday) with Minister for Planning and Development Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar in the chair.

    Projects relating to energy, food and agriculture, health, information technology, physical planning and housing and transport and communication were presented in the meeting.

    A project to construct 220 kv Faqarian to Ludaywala grid station costing some 5.5 billion rupees was presented in the meeting which was sent to Executive Committee of the National Economic Council for final approval.

    The meeting also discussed and approved the up-gradation of D.I.Khan Arid Zone Research Institute besides improving agricultural productivity in less developed areas of FATA and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at a cost of 691 million rupees.

    In physical planning and housing sector, a project of water supply and waste water management in Lahore costing over 67 billion rupees was discussed. The project was sent to ECNEC for final approval.

    In transport and communication sector, project of Peshawar Metro Bus costing over 67 billion rupees was also discussed and sent to ECNEC for approval.

    The CDWP also approved a project to improve and stabilize health monitoring system in Sindh. It would cost over 281 million rupees.
