    Youm-e-Ashur, the tenth of Muharram, is being observed today across the country with due solemnity to pay homage to the supreme sacrifices rendered by Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) ho Ta’ala Anho and his devoted companions in Karbala.

    Speaker National Assembly, Asad Qaiser in his message said Youm-e-Ashur reminds us of the great sacrifices of martyrs of Karbala to uphold the supremacy of truth and Islam.He said martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) teaches that Muslims should not refrain from laying down their lives while fighting the elements of oppression and tyranny.“Let us pledge on this day to take solid steps in light of ‘Uswah-e-Shabbiri’ which ensures respect for mankind.

    Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Suri in his message in connection with Ashura said that the Karbala incident teaches us the significance of sacrifice in the way to the attainment of greater objectives.

    Former president and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari in his message on Ashura said that the philosophy of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) is a beacon of light for resisting dictatorship, tyranny, oppression and totalitarianism.

    Chief Minister Punjab, Usman Buzdar said in his message that the Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) introduced golden principles for humankind. Battle of Karbala was a war between right and wrong and the evil forces were defeated in this battle.
