Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has inaugurated the second LNG terminal at Port Qasim, built at a cost of Rs50 billion.

Addressing the media, the premier said when the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz took control of the government, there was a severe shortage of power.

"However, our government has taken steps to control the energy shortage in the country," he added.
He said that the government's function is not to do business but to provide a regulatory framework.

The prime minister said that the government's every initiative to resolve the energy crisis has met success.

"As many as three LNG stations will be functioning in the near future," Abbasi announced.

The premier said that he is hopeful more LNG terminals will be working in the country.

In August this year, the premier had inaugurated another LNG terminal at Port Qasim.
