    Pakistan and Malaysia have resolved to work closely to cooperate at the United Nations and OIC on various challenges faced by the Muslim Ummah.

    The resolve was expressed during a meeting between Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar and her Malaysian counterparts in New York.

    They vociferously rejected the Islamophobic trends and condemned the blasphemous film.

    Hina Rabbani Khar said Pakistan attachés great importance to its relations with the ASEAN Community. She hoped Malaysia will continue supporting Pakistan's case for the Full Dialogue partner of the Association.

    Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar also met with the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan‚ Elmar Mammadyarov Maharram Oglu.

    They agreed to work closely as non-permanent members of the UN Security Council to counter various challenges facing the Ummah.

    During the meeting‚ Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar and her Iranian counterpart Dr Ali Akbar Salehi emphasized the need for expeditious completion of mega projects particularly in the energy sector.

    They also discussed the situation in Afghanistan and Syria.
