  • Federation‚ Secret Agencies inform SC “no military operation in Balochistan”

    A three member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has resumed hearing of Balochistan law and order situation

    At the outset‚ the federation and secret agencies submitted reply before the apex court about the situation in Balochistan.

    The Supreme Court has been informed that no military operation is being carried out in Balochistan province.

    In their joint reply the federation and secret agencies told the three member bench hearing Balochistan law and order case that the secret agencies neither have any missing person nor do they have any death squad.

    Chief Secretary Balochistan submitted before the bench that on the directions of the Chief Justice‚ the prime minister held a meeting on Balochistan. It was attended by Chief of Army Staff‚ Ministers for Defense and Information‚ Attorney General and others.

    Attorney General Irfan Qadir said Balochistan issue is a political one and it should be dealt with in a political manner.

    The Chief Secretary said that Baloch political parties are operating freely in the province.

    Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said all the major political parties should play their role for the resolution of Balochistan issue.

    The bench will now take up the case for hearing from the 8th October in Quetta.
