    Minister for Information Qamar Zaman Kaira has appealed the people to remain calm and peaceful during protests against blasphemous film. In an interview‚ he said the Government is with the people on this issue and Pakistan is perhaps the only country where protest is being observed at state level. The Minister said violent dimension of the protests is politically motivated. He pointed out that burning our own home is not protest but sabotage. He said the political and religious parties should not trigger anarchy through violent protests. He said it is the responsibility of the government to protect all foreigners and this will be ensured at all costs. The Information Minister said the protesters came from Rawalpindi and Murree and it was the responsibility of Punjab police to stop them. He said the federal government had already informed the Punjab government to take necessary action.
