President Asif Ali Zardari has called for undertaking reforms process in FATA in consultation with all the stakeholders in the light of the wishes and customs of the people.
Chairing a briefing in Islamabad on Thursday‚ he said development of FATA and improvement of law and order situation in the area is the top priority of the government. The President said political activities have already been allowed in the area under an amendment in Frontier Crime Regulations. The meeting reviewed progress on various developmental projects in FATA and implementation status of the amendments in the FCR. The meeting was attended by Governor Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Barrister Masood Kausar‚ Law Minister Farooq H. Naek‚ and Spokesperson to the President Senator Farhatullah Babar‚ Senator Sardar Ali‚ and other officials.
