  • Imran Farooq murder case: Accused Moazzam files bail application

    Moazzam Ali Moazzam Ali

The bail application moved by accused in Imran Farooq murder case Moazzam Ali will be heard at Islamabad High Court today.

The application pleads that there is no direct evidence against the accused and thus the sections of ATC Act do not apply to the accused and thus he may be released.

Earlier on April 18 Anti-Terrorism Court had rejected Moazzam Ali’s bail application.

According to sources the application challenging the decision of the trial court is filed through Shahid Kamal Khan and Mansoor Afridi.

The petition further says that the murder took place in London while its conspiracy was hatched in Karachi and the case was registered in Islamabad and this tantamounts to the violation of the law. The petition pleads the court to issue order of accused thus.

A two member bench of IHC comprising Justice Noorul Haq Qureshi and Justice Athar Minallah will hear the petition.
