The Islamabad High Court Tuesday declared the order of the special court null and avoid that nominated former premier Shaukat Aziz, former minister Zahid Hamid and ex-chief justice of Pakistan Abdul Hameed Dogar co-accused in the high treason case.

The high court issued the verdict on the petitions filed by Aziz, Hamid and Dogar challenging the special court’s November 21, 2014 order that asked the federal government to include the three persons as the co-accused in the treason case of imposing emergency on November 3, 2007.

The treason trial of former president Pervez Musharraf in the special court was suspended after the IHC in December last year admitted the petitions for regular hearing and issued a stay order.

The court had reserved its verdict after hearing the arguments on October 19.

In today’s ruling, the IHC ordered an investigation agency to carry out probe without being influenced by the observations of the court.
