Director General ISPR Major General Asim Bajwa. Director General ISPR Major General Asim Bajwa.

Director General of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asim Bajwa Friday rebutted speculations regarding 'script writer' of prevailing political crisis.

Replying to a question while addressing a news conference here, Bajwa regretted over speculations against the military institution.

Some sections of society believed that there is a script writer from the military who triggered prevailing political crisis.

Rebutting such claims, Bajwa said that he had already dismissed such accusations, adding that the military supports country’s constitution and democracy.

The ISPR also rejected a media report claiming that five military officials in corps commanders conference advised army chief to intervene as political impasse persists. He said nothing like this happened in the conference, adding that all the commanders frankly exchange their views but they follow the army chief’s decision.

When asked about allegations leveled against General (retd) Ashfaq Pervez Kayani for his role in election rigging, Bajwa said that it is not necessary to respond to all baseless allegations.
