A terrorist attack on a security checkpost in the Malikhel area of Bannu was successfully repelled by security forces, resulting in the death of six khawarij militants and the martyrdom of 12 army personnel, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The militants attempted to breach the checkpost by ramming a car loaded with ammunition into the security wall.
The suicide blast caused a partial collapse of the protective wall, but the security forces swiftly responded, foiling the terrorists' efforts to infiltrate the post. Twelve army jawans tragically lost their lives in the blast.
The ISPR praised the courage of the jawans, who prevented further damage and casualties despite the intense attack.
