US Charge d’Affaires Natalie Baker met Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Friday, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to expanding economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the meeting focused on strengthening collaboration in key sectors, including information technology and critical minerals—areas identified as high-potential fields for future bilateral engagement.
Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar welcomed the growing interest of American companies in Pakistan, noting that increased US investment would support economic growth and technological advancement. He particularly appreciated the recent establishment of a Google Chrome assembly line in Haripur, calling it an encouraging step toward boosting Pakistan’s digital and manufacturing capabilities.
In addition to economic matters, the two sides discussed the broader regional landscape and pressing global issues. The spokesperson said that the meeting also reviewed ongoing peace efforts for Gaza, with both officials exchanging views on diplomatic initiatives aimed at alleviating the humanitarian crisis.
The engagement reflects continued efforts by Pakistan and the United States to strengthen ties across multiple sectors while contributing to regional peace and stability.
