    Adiala Jail administration Thursday refused to transfer Bushra Bibi to Adiala jail Superintendent Adiala Jail submitted his report to the court of Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb heard the petition of Bushra Bibi.

    Advocate Usman Gul appeared in the court on behalf of Bushra Bibi.

    Jail superintendent said Bushra Bibi cannot be transferred to jail due to security reasons and jail has no space accommodate more female prisoners as 250 women prisoners already incarcerated in jail.

    Islamabad Chief Commissioner has not yet submitted his reply. The prosecutor sought time to submit reply. The court accepted the plea and adjourned the hearing for two weeks.

    Imran Khan's wife Bushra Bibi has been arrested by the women Police from Adiala jail where she reached for the Toshkahana reference case.

    On December 2023, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has issued a final call-up notice to Bushra Bibi, former prime minister Imran Khan's wife, summoning her to appear before the Rawalpindi office in Islamabad on December 11 in connection with the Toshakhana case.

    The notice alleges that during Imran Khan's tenure as prime minister, Bushra Bibi received and retained gifts from foreign dignitaries worth millions of rupees, violating established procedures for handling such gifts.

    According to NAB, she kept a locket with chain, a pair of earrings, two rings, and a pair of bracelets in 2019.

    In 2020, she retained a necklace, a bracelet, a ring, and a pair of earrings.

    In 2021, she received a necklace with chain, a pair of earrings, a ring, and a wristwatch, which she allegedly failed to deposit in the Toshakhana as required by law.

    The anti-graft body has requested Bushra Bibi to appear before them along with the aforementioned items to answer questions and provide clarifications regarding the matter.

    Who is Bushra Bibi?

    Bibi is reportedly the first niqab-wearing spouse of a Pakistani Prime Minister. Shortly after Khan took office, Bibi was quoted by the media as being "afraid" and commented "I am sure Imran Khan will fulfill his promises to Pakistan. Allah has given us a great responsibility. Power comes and goes. Imran Khan aims to eliminate poverty from the country. He wants to improve the health and education system in Pakistan."

    Bibi has described Imran as an ‘extremely simple man.

    Talking about the PTI's slogan and promise of "change", she claimed that only Imran can bring about the promised change in the country but it would take time.
