Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived on a day-long visit to Quetta to assess the overall security situation in Balochistan and participate in a high-level security meeting on Thursday.
The Prime Minister will review the security situation in Balochistan and will chair a meeting of the Apex Committee, a body responsible for coordinating security measures.
The meeting is expected to be attended by the Army Chief, heads of intelligence agencies, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, and provincial ministers.
During the visit, Prime Minister Sharif will receive a briefing on the latest security situation in Balochistan and hold one-on-one meetings with the Governor and Chief Minister of the province.
The visit comes in the wake of a series of recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan, which resulted in the deaths of nearly 50 people, including military personnel.
