Pakistani singer and actor Ali Zafar has stood up against rising Islamophobic rhetoric, defending the peaceful teachings and global contributions of Islam.
Taking to the X social media platform, Ali Zafar chided the statement of American political commentator Charlie Kirk.
“The clash was never Islam versus the West. It is ignorance versus truth. Islam gave the world algebra, medicine, philosophy, and poetry while Europe was in the Dark Ages” he tweeted
In a thread that has since gained traction online, the artist continued: “Today, millions of Muslims live and thrive in the West as doctors, scientists, artists, and citizens helping build its future. Cities like Dubai and the evolving Saudi Arabia prove peaceful coexistence is not just possible—it is already happening. The old narrative is outdated. Time to move on.”
Ali Zafar didn’t stop there. He also responded to Indian social media figure Rahul Sharma, who had attempted to link terrorism with Islam. In a powerful reply, Zafar wrote: “I can show you double the number of articles linking terror to other religions too. Terror has no religion. Period.”
He went on to highlight how branding and psychological marketing have distorted perceptions of Islam: “Linking it with Islam is branding — deliberate psychological marketing. You hear ‘Nike’ and think ‘Just Do It.’ You hear ‘Apple’ and think innovation. You hear ‘Islam’ and you’re made to think terror. That’s not truth. That’s conditioning. It’s propaganda. Learn history. Not propaganda. You’ll score better in school.”
The Teefa in Trouble star, known for his outspoken stance on social justice and cultural integrity, has long used his platform to speak on issues of global concern.
His latest remarks have sparked discussion among fans, intellectuals, and fellow celebrities who praised his articulate response in the face of rising anti-Muslim sentiment.
