Skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed says he aims to repeat the aggression and positivity his side showed against England when they take on Australia in their World Cup game on Wednesday.

Pakistan will face defending champions Australia at the Cooper Associates County Ground in Taunton in their fourth match of the tournament.

Pakistan were defeated by West Indies in their opening match of the tournament, however, they turned things around and outclassed England in their next game at Nottingham. The game against Sri Lanka at Bristol last Friday was washed out without a ball being bowled.

Sarfaraz said he is confident of a good show against Aussies.

“Will go as positive and aggressive as we were against England,” he said

“We have the confidence of the last win although we would have loved to go with two wins, but you can’t do much about the weather,” the skipper added.

Australia were beaten by India at Oval on Sunday before coming to Taunton, after defeating Afghanistan and West Indies in their opening games of the tournament.

Sarfaraz further said he is well aware of Australia’s strength and added the return of David Warner and Steven Smith has made Australia a stronger side and Pakistan can’t take them lightly.

“We know Australia will come down hard and with Smith and Warner back they are at their best again and we give respect to all opponents,” he added.
