Multan Sultans have defeated Islamabad United by five wickets in the fourth match of ongoing Pakistan Super League in Dubai.

While chasing a target of 126 runs, Sultans reached home with eight balls to spare.

Sultans skipper Shoaib Malik led from the front with an crucial unbeaten knock of 31 runs. Shahid Afridi and Andre Russell played brisk cameos of 16 runs each.

For United, leg-spinner Shadab Khan claimed two wickets. Earlier United posted 125-7 in their allotted 20 overs, after Sultans won the toss and elected to field first.

The only notable performer with the bat for United was wicketkeeper-batsman and opener Luke Ronchi — who scored 51 runs off 33 balls. His innings include one boundary and five sixes.

The rest of the United batting lineup did not look comfortable against Sultans’ bowling and were, hence, restricted to a modest total.

For Sultans, Shahid Afridi and Ali Shafiq were the pick of the bowlers with two wickets each. Junaid Khan also claimed similar number of wickets.
