    Pacer Junaid Khan’s hat-trick helped Multan Sultans beat Lahore Qalandars by 43 runs in the third match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) here at Dubai International Stadium.

    Lahore Qalandars Skipper Brendon Mccullum won the toss and invited Multan Sultans to bat first in third match of the Pakistan super league (PSL) season three.

    Multan’s Openers Ahmed Shehzad and Kumar Sangakara provided 88 runs opening stand to put Lahore under pressure who were eagerly searching for wickets in first ten overs.

    Mustafizur Rehman later got breakthrough for the Qalandars in 11th over when Ahmed Shehzad edged his back of a length delivery into the gloves of Umar Akmal.

    Lahore were back in the game immediately after Yasir struck Sohaib Maqsood with a quick googly in 12th over on the total of 93.

    Later skipper Multan Shoaib Malik joined Sangakara and both put together a solid partnership of 54 runs before Sangakara caught off Mustafizur rehman giving away a simple catch at long off.

    Pollard was unlucky as he got run out without getting off the mark.

    Malik was the second high scorer from Multan with 48 runs.

    Mustafizur took two wickets while Yasir claimed one.

    In Reply, Lahore started off with a decent partnership of 31 between Fakhar Zaman and Sunil Narine before Narine was taken at third man by Junaid off Muhammad Irfan. Narine added quick 24 to Lahore’s total.

    Skipper Brendon Mccullum was failed to open his account as he was caught on the boundary line off Muhammad Irfan after facing five balls.

    Umar Akmal and Fakhar Zaman put 65 runs together on the board. Umar after scoring 31 gives a simple catch to Darren Bravo at Long on.

    Fakhar also got out after adding 49. Sohail Akhtar made 21. Lahore were wrapped up scoring 136 in 17.2 overs.

    Junaid Khan (3-24) marked second hat-trick of PSL’S history as he struck the TaleEnders within no time. Imran Tahir bagged four wickets.

    It is pertinent to mention here that the newly added franchise Multan Sultan have already started their campaign on a winning note after beating Peshawar by 7 wickets in the opener of the tournament on 22 February and this win was their second in a row.
