    At least 12 people including women and children drowned when a boat capsized in Indus River in Matiari on Saturday.

    According to SSP Matiari, three bodies have so far been recovered from the River while rescue work is under way.

    Yesterday, at least 14 people, including women and children, drowned as their boat capsized in Indus River.

    According to the rescue sources, two bodies had been fished-out from the river. Search for the others was continued in the area, divers of the Pakistan Navy have been called in for the speedy rescue operation.

    The cause of the incident could not be ascertained, said the local police.

    Meanwhile, rescue officials shifted the bodies to the hospital for identification and medico-legal requirements.

    Sources said that volunteers from nearby areas were also rushed to the place and took part in rescue and search operation.
