    Arrested suspect Inspector Chand Khan Niazi has confessed that Inspector Imtiaz Niazi and Inspector Abid Tanoli used to act upon the orders of notorious gang war leader Uzair Baloch.

    Chand Khan Niazi is a close companion of Uzair Baloch and is currently under interrogation.

    The suspect has made startling revelations regarding the police personnel working for the gang war leader.

    Chand Khan Niazi has revealed that officers ranking from Superintendant Police (SP) to constable position used to work under Baloch.

    The suspect has named 14 officers which also include some retired personnel namely SP Lyari Raees Ghani, Station House Officer (SHO) Baghdadi Abid Tanoli and inspector Imtiaz Niazi.

    Investigating sources have said that police constable Farooq Niazi used to work as a beater.

    The sources have also said that both serving and retired police officials can be summoned for investigation.

    Chand Khan Niazi was arrested by the Rangers a few days back. The suspect is accused of involvement in the murder of Arshad Pappu, Yasir Arfat and Yasir Pathan.

    Uzair Baloch was arrested by Rangers on January 30, 2016 as he was trying to enter Karachi from the city’s suburbs and was handed to Rangers for 90 days by the court.

    The court also directed to form a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) for interrogation of 30 cases against the suspect after which the team was created having City Senior Superintendant of Police (SSP) Fida Hussain as its head.

    Uzair Baloch, the chief of the banned Peoples Aman Committee (PAC), fled Pakistan in 2013 after the launch of a Rangers operation in the metropolis.

    The suspect has been blamed for running a network involved in criminal activities including killings, extortion, kidnapping for ransom and drugs business.

    Several cases were registered again him at police stations in different areas including Kalakot, Chakiwara, Napier and Baghdadi.
