  • Ibad, Rangers chief discuss NAP implementation

Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad said on Tuesday that the Rangers-led Karachi operation had boosted the confidence of people and it should continue “till the elimination of the last terrorist and criminal”.

During a meeting with the Rangers director general, the governor lauded extraordinary efforts of the paramilitary force and said that the operation had “restored the sense of security to the masses” and it should continue till its logical end.

According to a statement issued from Governor House, “the director general of Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, Major General Bilal Akbar held a meeting with Governor Dr Ibad and discussed in detail the ongoing operation against terrorists and criminals under the National Action Plan (NAP)”.

“They unanimously showed resolve that the operation will continue till the elimination of terrorism from across the province, as the entire nation and the armed forces are equally committed to ensuring that the NAP is implemented in letter and spirit.”

The governor expressed satisfaction over a significant decline in the incidents of terrorism. “This has significantly improved public confidence in law enforcement agencies, particularly the Rangers. This is appreciable that the Rangers have restored the sense of security to the masses.”

The Rangers chief briefed the governor about the measures so far taken by the paramilitary force against criminals and terrorists within the province.

He said that every Rangers soldier was committed to the cause.

“The Rangers DG briefed the governor about the security measures adopted across the province along with foolproof arrangements for peaceful local government polls in different parts of Sindh, saying no one would be allowed to take the law into their hands,” said the statement.
