An anti-terrorism court on Wednesday sent four suspects on physical remand involved in attacking participants in a candlelit vigil held to mark fourth death anniversary of Salman Taseer.

Gulberg police produced suspects Iftikhar, Furqanul Haq, Wazir Ali and Naveed before the court and sought their physical remand to complete investigation.

The investigating officer stated that the suspects had attacked the peaceful participants in the vigil at Liberty Chowk and caused harassment in society.

The court granted six-day physical remand of the suspects and directed the police to complete investigation by next hearing.

ACQUITTAL: An anti-terrorism court on Wednesday acquitted two suspects involved in murder of eye specialist Dr Ali Haider as prosecution witnesses changed their statements.

Garden Town police had arrested Rauf Gujjar and Sabir Shah for target killing of Dr Haider in 2013.
