The Punjab Educational Department on Wednesday issued a new order regarding the changes in government and private school timings, effective from February 01.
The Department of School Education revised the schedule for schools across Lahore according to which all regular schools will commence classes at 8:30 in the morning and conclude at 2:30 in the afternoon.
According to the official notification, the specific timings are also mentioned for girls’ schools, which will start at 8:15AM and end at 2:15PM.
For schools operating in double shifts, the first shift will run from 7:45 in the morning until 12:15 in the afternoon, as per the notification. However, the second shift is scheduled to begin at 12:30 in the afternoon and continue until 5:00 in the evening.
Lahore city finds itself under mostly cloudy skies with a temperature of 16°C, although the temperature suggests a milder 20°C. Despite the calm winds, the air quality takes a hit, categorized as unhealthy, prompting caution for those sensitive to atmospheric pollutants.
Looking ahead, Lahore braces for impending thunderstorms, expected to roll in from Wednesday evening through Thursday morning. Hourly forecasts indicate varying probabilities of rain throughout the day, with precipitation chances peaking around the afternoon hours, hovering between 34% to 51%.
Today’s forecast calls for a mix of clouds and sunshine, interspersed with passing showers, contributing to cooler temperatures. The probability of rain stands at 80%, urging residents to keep umbrellas handy as they navigate through the day.
Tomorrow, Lahore anticipates a hazy and cool morning, with the possibility of thunderstorms in spots during the morning hours. As the day progresses, the weather is expected to clear up, albeit remaining cool, providing some relief from the inclement conditions.
Looking further into the weekend, Lahore can expect cloudy and cool weather on Saturday, with Sunday maintaining a hazy and cool ambiance. However, Monday brings a glimmer of warmth, with clouds giving way to sunshine, signaling a gradual improvement in weather conditions.
