The Election Commission of Pakistan rejected on Thursday PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif’s petition against the election result of NA-17 seat in Mansehra.

A two-member bench of the ECP led by Chief Election Commissioner Sikander Sultan Raja heard the Sharif’s petition. His lawyer appeared in the court.

The returning officer for the NA-17 submitted his report to the ECP in which it was stated that the result was formed according to the Form 45.

The ECP rejected Sharif’s petition which urged the commission to stop issuing the notification of the constituency’s result. The PML-N supremo had lost the seat against PTI backed independent candidate Shahzada Gastasip.

The three-time former prime minister’s lawyer appeared late in court and requested the court to not reject his plea. On this, the CEC asked the counsel to again file a request.
