An official of the Frontier Crops was martyred while nine others were injured when a bomb blast targeted a security forces vehicle in Peshawar of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The blast happened near Prime Hospital on Warsak Road.

Officials said that the injured included six Frontier Constabulary officials and three civilians. Two of the injured FC personnel and one civilian are said to be in serious condition. Four FC men were brought to the Lady Reading Hospital and are said to be stable.

Rescue officials said that five ambulances were dispatched towards the site of the blast. An emergency has been imposed in Medical Teaching institutions across the city. The hospitals have been instructed to keep burn and trauma facilities ready.

Warsak Division SP Mohammad Arshad Khan said that initial reports suggest that the blast was of an Improvised explosive device. However, he added that a report of the Bomb Disposal Unit would provide more details on the nature of the bomb.

Former prime minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the attack on FC officials’ vehicle in Peshawar.

“The sacrifices of our valiant soldiers and resilient people will not go in vain and such terrorist attacks cannot stop us from completely getting rid of the militants,” he wrote on X.
