Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry on Tuesday slammed a meeting between former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and urged courts to take notice of it.

“Nawaz Sharif was so sick that he told the Supreme Court that his life would be in danger if he was denied bail,” he tweeted, referring to the former premier’s release on six-week bail on medical grounds last month. He said as always, the apex court was told a lie.

The minister said now the JUI-F chief had reached Jati Umra residence of the former prime minister to provide him political oxygen. “Courts should take notice of it,” he urged.

Earlier today, the JUI-F chief reached the former premier’s residence.

In meeting at the breakfast Fazl inquired about the health of Nawaz Sharif, who informed the JUI-F leader about the state of his health and ongoing medical treatment, sources said.

According to sources, the two leaders also discussed current political situation, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) cases and government’s attitude towards the opposition.

The duo also talked about a possible political movement against the government, sources further said.
