    Indian response to Kartarpur opening

    ISPR DG said that India is responding negatively to Kartarpur Border opening that will be one entry point into Pakistan for Indian Sikhs. Indian Army is targeting urban populace with accelerated ceasefire violations, he revealed.

    Security situation in country

    Talking about peace in the country, the ISPR DG said that terrorism incidents have minimized in the country and that the law and order situation in Karachi has also improved. Large part of war on terror has been waged in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), he added.

    He said that seven to eight terrorist incidents would take place every month in 2013, which has considerably decreased.

    He said that civilian casualties have also decreased to a great extent. He expressed confidence that there will be complete peace in the country as a result of the ongoing stability operations.

    Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor, while addressing a news conference in Rawalpindi, said that Indian forces were deliberately targeting civilians across the LoC.

    Balochistan

    On Balochistan, Major General Ghafoor said this province made 43 per cent of the country with only 6 per cent of the population. “We have changed our deployment according to the geography of the province. This readjustment is focused on the socio-economic projects in the province.”

    He said that terrorist incidents in the province had fallen and 18 had taken place in 2018. “In the last three years over 2,000 Ferraris had surrendered in the province which was a good step.”

    Karachi

    The military spokesman said the law and order situation in Karachi had improved in the last few years. “In 2018 barring the last two incidents, the security situation has improved drastically. Credit goes to the law enforcement agencies.”

    He told that 44 major operations have been carried out under Radd-ul-Fasaad while 32000 weapons have been seized during these actions.
