The police on Wednesday arrested former SSP Malir Rao Anwar over his alleged involvement in extra-judicial killing of a youth Naqeeb Ullah Mehsud and three others in a police encounter.
He was handed to Sindh police team led by Aftab Pathan and would be shifted to Karachi for further investigations. The investigation team led by Aftab Pathan and Amir Farooq, Javed Akber, Zulfiqar Mehar and Abid Qaimkhani as its members is converted into a JIT from apex court and would probe the police official over his alleged involvement in Naqeeb murder case.
IG Sindh AD Khwaja was also present during he proceedings while armored personnel carriers were also brought in the apex court to shift Anwar from the apex court.
The court ordered to arrest the former SSP malir Rao Anwar who appeared before the court on Wednesday and the CJP said that strict punishment would be given if wrongdoings would be proved against Rao Anwar.
