    Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has demanded Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Law Minister Rana Sanaullah should resign over the 2014 Model Town incident.

    The call came after the provincial government released the inquiry report into the 2014 killings in Model Town during a police anti-encroachment operation.

    In his message on Twitter, the PTI chief said that after the release of the Justice Ali Najafi judicial commission report, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Law Minister Rana Sanaullah should “immediately resign for [the] killing of Pakistani citizens”.

     

    On Tuesday, the Lahore High Court (LHC) ordered the Punjab government to make the Model Town enquiry report public, in which 14 workers of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) were killed and around 100 injured during the police action.

    On the other hands, PTI has submitted resolution demanding immediate resignation of Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah. The resolution was submitted by PTI MPA Dr Murad Raas.The resolution states that as per Bariq Najafi’s report the operation to clear the encroachments from Model Town was planned in a meeting chaired by Rana Sanaullah.

    It added that the operation resulted in killings of 14 people. It demanded that Rana Sanaullha should resign immediately over the killings.
